Cape Town Nature Reserves - Strandfontein Purification Plant
This large area has always been a naturally occurring wetland, which has a rich bird diversity and in the past, played host to a large number of endemic plants. Waterbirds are obviously well represented here with a possible sightings list of between 80 to 100 bird species. African Marsh-Harriers can be seen quartering the reed-beds while Greater Flamingos sieve the mud for food.
