We will be driving from the vineyards of the Cape, over the Hottentots Holland Mountains and into Worcester, to the National Botanical Gardens (specialising in semi-desert vegetation). We will be spending 2 nights in the scenic Karoo National Park, situated in an arid region with an average annual rainfall of only 260mm. Suprisingly though, the park harbours 64 mammal species, nearly 200 bird species and 59 reptile species. Succulent plants make up the major part of the vegetation in this reserve.
